Once i visited a university of applied arts in Switzerland for a workshop. In the room, the network admins had prepared internet connectivity for everybody: There was a router with a lot of ethernet cables, on each cable was a printed sign with the name of the student supposed to use the cable. The students arrived with their laptops and searched for their personal cable. Of course everything worked flawlessly.
